Clerkenwell Design Week 2016 : This week BD launches a New Dali armchair along with a selection of other pieces.
Design meets art since 1972. BD Barcelona Design is a Spanish company with the highest international prestige in design. It was founded in 1972 as Bd Ediciones de Diseño by the architects and interior designers Pep Bonet, Cristian Cirici, Lluis Clotet, Mireia Riera and Oscar Tusquets.
They have oriented BD’s production from the very start by cultivating beauty, in some cases above their function. Accompanied with artisanal processes instead of mass production, the new products always have more proximity to art thanindustrial design.
Characterised by superior quality, short-series productions (and on occasion limited editions), and unique pieces due to crafted manufacturing. Their catalogue has products designed by some of the most recognized designers worldwide, both contemporary such as Alfredo Häberli, Jaime Hayon, Konstantin Grcic or Ross Lovegrove, or historical such as Antoni Gaudí or Salvador Dalí. Salvador Dali was a pioneer of surrealism who often portrayed pieces of furniture in his paintings.
