Shahi Tukra is a famous dish from Mughal Era; it is also called Double Ka Meetha which is quite famous around Hyderabad region. I have no shame in confessing this with you that I have learnt this recipe during my hotel management curriculum, and surely this was the easiest to make.
As all our dear Indian readers can understand that shahi tukra literally translates to “Royal Piece”. This was developed during late Mughal era which was quite rich in taste, aroma and flavor. A dessert quite befitting for kings and queens.
There is some alternation to original method keeping in mind the number of calories. Traditionally, this dish involves bread to be deep fried. But I have pan fried to save on the ghee intake and cut down the calories.
Shahi Tukra is to be served with Rabri. I am sharing a recipe of making Rabri by reducing milk. You can also make rabri with condensed milk but nothing beats traditionally made rabri. click here to read full article….
